As an influencer, one of the best ways to monetize your hustle is by working with brands. Whether you're collaborating via sponsored posts on your feed or creating content for the brand, there's quite the opportunity to make a pretty penny if you're pitching to the right brands.
When it comes to pitching to brands, it can be tough to 1) find the correct contact and 2) send them an email that they'll actually read. You have to think about everything from the brand's perspective. Depending on how large the brand is, they are likely receiving hundreds of emails each week (or even day!) from influencers looking to partner, so you have to ask yourself "how can I make my pitch email stand out?"
In my experience pitching to brands for myself and for my clients, I've found that it's best to include the following things in your pitch email:
- A couple tidbits about you (name, location, niche) — No, we don't need an entire biography.
- A bit about your personal connection/experience with the brand (or if you haven't tried it yet, a bit about why you're so intrigued and interested in giving it a go)
- A link to a high-performing sponsored post that you've done in the past and some stats about it what may draw the eye to the numbers and show that your sponsored posts actually show a ROI.
- A bullet-pointed list sharing your demographics, engagement rate, and other stats that may be informative and set you apart from other influencers who are pitching the same brand
Some other helpful tips:
- Word every sentence in a way that shows the brand how you are going to deliver clients to them. They are paying you for advertising, so you're essentially telling the brand what you can do for them, not what you want from them.
- Keep it short and sweet.
- Ask the brand how you can help them, not the other way around.
P.S. I did include a note about the current country's climate at the bottom due to COVID, etc., but depending on the timing of things, this may not be necessary.
I focus on all things style, beauty, and life — through my creative and professional lens and editing skills. (This line shows that I am a professional photographer and have pretty good editing skills, something that may set me apart from others). I've found that I'm able to draw in women of all ages throughout the world and connect with them on a personal level! Recently, I collaborated with Desenio, a home decor brand and was able to provide them with gorgeous content, engaging copy, and a high ROI. (Including a link here makes it easy for the brand to click and see my recent work and engagement on a sponsored post)

P.S. If you're not working on any campaigns due to the world's climate at the moment, I understand and would happy to postpone. I'd love to plan now and post later if that is more convenient and on-brand for you.

I've been an avid fan of your content and would love to discuss a mutually beneficial partnership to get [BRAND HERE] in front of my audience as I know they'd be drooling over [BRAND OR PRODUCT] because [insert personal experience or interest tidbit here]. (In this section, highlight what you love about the brand and why you're interested in working with them. This wording is a great example of a pitch to a brand I haven't yet tried)
